Priorities 2024 Conference

MIDAS team participated in the Priorities 2024 Conference on May 8th -10th, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand. This conference was co-hosted by the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP) and the International Society for Priorities in Health (ISPH). This year marked the first time that Priorities Conference was held in an LMIC country and in Asia.

MIDAS co-founders and directors, Dr. Yot Teerawattananon and Dr. Wang Yi, shared their valuable insights on prioritization in early Health Technology Assessment, traditional Health Technology Assessment, and they promote efficient health innovation ecosystem.

The MIDAS team, led by Dr. Teerawat Wiwatapnit, also hosted a workshop on Priority Setting
 in Medical Innovation and Using Target Product Profiles to explore the critical aspects of priority setting and target product profiles in the context of medical innovation development. As the session wrapped up, the special guest, Dr. Janjira Thaipadungpanit, Mahidol-Oxford Research Unit (MORU), Mahidol University, Thailand, shared her insights and experience on prioritization in medical innovation development from her work on the development of a novel tuberculosis diagnostic tool.

About HITAP Foundation

The Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program Foundation (HITAP Foundation) was established in 2007 as a research organization. Its main mission is to study both positive and negative impacts arising from the use of technology or health policies and present research results and relevant information to relevant government agencies, such as the Sub-committee on Development of the Essential Drugs List, the National Health Security Office (NHSO), and various agencies under the Ministry of Public Health for use in policy decision-making.

The HITAP Foundation also works internationally, especially in developing countries, with an emphasis on supporting the development of the capacity to conduct self-assessment of health technology.
